Outline of the publishing agreement with the author
The copyright holder (hereinafter referred to as the "Author") and the University Press, represented by the National University Corporation University of Tsukuba President (hereinafter referred to as the "University") agree on the publication of the work in question in line with the following terms and conditions.
- Copyright shall belong to the Author.
- Publishing rights shall belong to the University.

Any expenses required for preparing the manuscript in question shall be covered by the Author, while expenses for printing, marketing, and advertisement shall be covered by the University.
However, when the printing costs are quite expensive compared with those of other books, the Author may be requested to cover the excess costs. - In order to preserve the rights of the Author, the work will display a copyright mark ©, the Author's name, and the year of first publication.
- Copyright royalties will not be paid to the Author.
- The University reserves the right to make decisions on the price, bookbinding, and number of copies for the work in question.

The Author will receive 10 complimentary copies at the publication of the first edition.
If the Author requires more than 10 copies, he/she will be able to purchase copies at 80% of the original price by using the Author discount.
The Author may inquire with the University Press office staff about the discount procedure. - Request for reprinting, reproduction, and publishing on electronic media shall be discussed by holding consultations between the University and the Author.
- The Author may not publish works that have similar contents to or have the same title as those of the current work within the valid period of this agreement.
- Even after termination of publishing rights, the University may distribute any leftover publications in stock.

The validity of this agreement is the period from the date of contract to the publication date of the first edition, and 3 years after the publication date.
If neither the University nor the Author submits a document requesting termination of this agreement no longer than 3 months prior to its expiration date, this agreement shall be renewed automatically under the same conditions for further period of 1 year each. - If any changes to the content of this agreement are needed, such changes will be discussed by holding consultations between the University and the Author.
